Wellington is a great city. It has all the buzz of city life but in a spacious and un-crowded way, although it can get a bit windy. The sort of wind that if I was wearing my oversized Hawaiian shirt I would need a couple of sandbags to keep me on the ground.

While I was there the Volvo ocean 70 round the world race came in to finish leg 3 of the race. The finish was the closest it has ever been. After 5 days and 1400 miles at sea only 9 seconds separated the first two boats. This caused great tension and excitement on the dock side and this atmosphere carried on though the night of parties making a great day. (and a bad head the next day)
